CLOTHING FROM SPOOKY'S CLOSET

Ok today's blog is about my new cool friend Spooky, her amazing Etsy shop and all the amazing bad ass clothing she creates and design.

I met Spooky on Etsy when I was looking for some custom made clothing pieces. I love buying custom clothes and jewelry because I know I'm getting one of a kind pieces that are unique and that I can have some input on how I want something made. I came across Spooky's shop and instantly fell in love. Her and I started chatting online because I had seen a dress on her site that I wanted but had already sold. (That's how cool her stuff is) All her other clothing was so amazing that it was hard for me to choose which one I wanted until she mentioned to me that if there was something I specifically wanted that wasn't already posted, she could custom make it for me. Instantly I was hooked. Right now, Spooky is beginning to create my custom horror dress which I'm so excited about, but don't want to tell you exactly what it is yet until I get so I can surprise everyone. I did recently just place another order with her and received it last night so I can definitely vouch for the great quality of her work and design.

Here is a little testimonial from Spooky on how she got started and here idea and concept behind her shop:

"I started making my own clothing in a desperate attempt to find something I liked to wear. Lets face it, unless you want to wear an over-sized men's t shirt, there's not much for us girls to choose from. I wanted to look girly and pretty while showing the horror and bands that I like. I'm a hard core horror fan and Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. So I just started out making patterns and designing clothing for girls, so we can wear what we like with a twist to it! Using the men's t shirts, I can design a really cute top or dress, that any horror vixen would love to wear. My clothing is perfect for your "walk on the wilder side!"

I agree with Spooky, 100%. While I love my concert and big horror shirts, it's always nice to have something made to flatter and fit your body. With her creations, you always get that. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. Here is the link to Spooky's Closet an d photos of just some of her clothes so definitely check out her full store when you can. The piece I just ordered is one of her bandanna halter tops that is a beautiful purple and silver color to it with a cute bat pattern. I'll be posting a photo of me wearing it in the next article but like I said again, the construction and quality of the top is perfect and is very flattering and I don't have to worry about it shredding to pieces or falling off of me. I can't wait for my sexy custom dress to wear and show off to the world. A big thank you to Spooky and here is the link to her store. Enjoy!!!

THE ZOMBIE HORROR PICTURE SHOW...They LIVE for kicks, LOVE for kicks, they KILL for kicks

This concert dvd came out last month on May 19th and features Rob Zombie and his awesome band performing live in Dallas, Texas. I'm a huge music person and love going to concerts but I really hate when a singer or group sound completely different live from how they sound on their album. That isn't the case here. I've seen Rob Zombie in concert before and his shows are always amazing. This live show definitely proves it also. Throughout the dvd, you catch gritty-style black and white behind the scene action, not just at the beginning before they go on stage but throughout the concert as well. On the the dvd there is also an impressive photo gallery to check out. I really enjoyed Zombie's concert for a few reasons. The main reason is that Rob not just sings his most recent songs but also includes songs from his first band "White Zombie," such as "Thunderkiss 65," popular songs from "Hellbilly Deluxe" and "The Sinister Urge" such as "Meet the Creeper" and "Never Gonna Stop," and even songs from "House of 1000 Corpses" and "Lords of Salem." I wish he would have performed more songs from his album, "Educated Horses," but that's just me being picky. The only thing I didn't care for on "The Zombie Horror Picture Show," were how a lot of the girls there decided to start stripping in the audience during the performance. I'm not talking about just flashing the band, I'm talking about full on nudity. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting naked (not during a concert usually) but you could tell that these girls were just doing it because they saw the video monitors and the cameras and wanted attention. They were just annoying to me and seemed more interested in being filmed than actually listening and enjoying the show. I love and really appreciate the fact that Rob Zombie can put on a show where he and his band dress up in their zombie and monster gear, have cool and spooky props on stage, and have awesome video clips on the screen behind them, and it still doesn't take away from the pure rawness of their singing and performing which happens a lot with other bands performing live. I absolutely recommend this dvd to everyone. There are two last things I wanted to share about this dvd. First one is that I want to steal and wear Rob's pants that he performs in. They are absolutely bad ass and spooky cool. The final thing is that even if you're not a fan of Rob Zombie's films or other projects (which I personally don't see how you can't like them,) you can still enjoy a truly amazing show!

Type O Negative

I came across this band and music when I just entered and high school and I was hooked. With Type O's metal rock sound, the singer, PETER STEELE'S (R.I.P deep voice, and their EROTIC words always made, and still make me feel all gooey and sexy inside. This is my favorite album by Type O Negative and also my favorite line from them. Mmmm, feeling yummy just thinking about their music.

Love for Mr. Rob Zombie

I have been listening to and following Rob Zombie for almost 16 years now, probably more. I think him and his work are incredible. I first got to know him while he was in his band, "White Zombie," and I was instantly hooked. After that, he went solo as Rob Zombie. A lot of solo artists who break away from bands, aren't usually as good as before but Rob BLEW MY MIND AWAY with his first solo album, "Hellbilly Deluxe." With his songs, "Living Dead Girl," "Dragula," "Spookshowbaby," and more, I became a complete zombie addict.

Since his first solo album, he has put at atleast three more and are all incredible and I definitely recommend all of them. The cool part is, is that even though all his albums have a different feel to them, they all still rock and metal and amazing to listen too. I can honestly say there isn't one song of his that I don't like. He is also amazing to see live.

Besides being a fantastic talented singer and rock god, he also a renaissance man of sorts. He has his own comic out, clothing line that his darling hot wife, Sherri Moon Zombie runs and models for, and of course a wicked amazing director. His first movie that he directed was "House of 1000 Corpses," which I got to see the first premiere of which was incredible. Originally when the movie was coming out, it was rated X because it was so bloody and gory, so Rob being a professional, cut out some shots to bring the movie down to NC-17, R. House of 1000 Corpses is one of my favorite horror films of all time. It stars, Sherri Moon Zombie, or Sherri Moon at the time, older cult horror actress, Karen Black, Bill Moseley, and Sid Haig.

The basic synopsis of House of 1000 Corpses is about two teenage couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of serial killers end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic backwater family of serial killers. It's definitely not a movie for little kids, but is guaranteed to please all horror lovers.

The second film he did which is actually the sequel to 1000 Corpses is, "The Devil's Rejects. It stars most of the same people but has a completely different feel to it. While 1000 Corpses was more bloody and gory, etc, Devil's Rejects is more about the serial killer aspect and is almost reversed in the plot. While Bill Moseley, Sherri Moon Zombie, and Sid Haig are still the main characters and are killing people on the run, they are actually being hunted but the police from all their past murders that were shown in the first movie. The short synopsis of this film is in Ruggsville, Texas, the police under the command of Sheriff John Quincy Wydell attack the house of the sadistic serial killers Firefly family (a.k.a. The Devil's Reject) and they arrest mother Firefly, but Otis B. Driftwood and Baby Firefly escape from the siege. Tiny is wandering nearby the house and also escapes. Otis and Baby call their patriarch, the mad clown Captain Spaulding and they schedule to reunite at an isolated motel in the desert. When Otis and Baby arrive, they kidnap two families of singers, using sadism and violence against the harmless persons. Meanwhile, Sheriff Wydell promises to capture and kill the runaways, seeking revenge for the death of his brother, the Deputy George Wydell. Another amazing and one of my favorite killer films ever.

His most recent films were actually remakes of "Halloween 1 and 2." While unfortunately the first Halloween didn't do so well as I had hope, I enjoyed the second one a lot more. I also appreciate the way Rob interpreted the story. It's almost a completely different idea and concept from the original Jamie Lee Curtis films. I definitely recommend seeing these two flicks just to see the differences from the originals. I personally like the second "Halloween," better.

One more thing about Rob Zombie and his director skills is that he does not do more than two sequels for a movie which I love. I can't stand horror directors, which I won't name here who want to do six different movies about the same character or concept. It's enough. Stopping at two is the better way to go.

If you are in the L.A area, make sure to stop by his store, "Halloween Town," which contains everything you can possibly need for Halloween, plus his skull clothing brand, memorabilia, and a lot more. The best thing about the shop, is that is open all year round and he is known to pop in the store from time to time.

Here are some snippets and clips from his different work but this is just a taste of his brilliance. If you love heavy metal music, horror, talent, and more, this is the man to check out. I love you Rob Zombie!

True Blood and Lost Boys

I recently just found this remix that I absolutely love. It's a True Blood Remix, which is always good for me, but it's played to one of my favorite songs, and the theme song to the incredible 80's vampire movie, "The Lost Boys," starring Corey Haim, Jason Patrick, Keifer Sutherland, and Corey Feldman. If you haven't ever seen "The Lost Boys," go watch it immediately. It's an incredible movie that paved the way for alot of the great horror movies and shows, including "True Blood."
